Only having the use of one arm, not being able to sleep lying down, having to take painkillers which make me feel 'woozy', these are all very frustrating and/or painful consequences of my little accident.....
Even worse though ...what am I going to do with myself? All my usual outdoor and indoor activities are suspended - I can't even type properly with one hand!
There are some books I could read.....films to watch.....but they won't keep me fit.
Am I being too negative?
So what will appear on these pages over the next few weeks? I'll have to think of something.......I don't really just want to keep a diary of having a broken arm.....
We'll have to wait and see......

You have my sympathy - I am now seven weeks on from a knee replacement and have done no significant walking since my Welsh boundary walk last summer. At least I have been able to use the computer which has just about kept me sane. I suspect you will become adept on the keyboard and one hand with a bit of practice.
With best wishes for a good recovery.
Route planning is good. Do it online - get one of those fancy e-OS map access thingies, and Robert's your father's brother.
We shall expect to see the outline of your route for next year....let's see now - in 7 to 10 days?
Now get on with it!

You'll just have to do a lot of gentle walking when you get back to Scotland.

Good suggestions! - thanks for those, everyone - I am beginning to be able to use a spoon more successfully with my left hand (otherwise I'd be a bit hungry by now!) - my typing is improving too! Tomorrow I'm going to attempt a shower!!!!!
So sorry to read of your accident Laura. You’ll just have to go and get plastered. Oh dear, i’ll fetch me coat.
