There's been a storm raging around my ordinary life.
I walked a bit. Looked after my grandchildren for a week or so. Lead some fine walks in Northumberland, both along the beautiful coast and inland, but somehow missed seeing my eldest son during his lightning fast visit from Canada. Helped prepare my daughter's house for letting.
Then, finally, at the beginning of this week, waved goodbye to her, my son-in-law and my small grandchildren as they set off for their new life in Shanghai.......................
.......so I've been learning to dance in the rain.

That's the spirit, Laura.
It can be tough at times but if you get out there determined to have a go, things always look brighter.
There is always skype so you can get to see and chat to your family.
Thanks Alan - your support is much appreciated.
I thought you might have been a bit busy of late. Looking forward to a good catch up soon, take care x
Hi Louise, Sorry I've been out o touch but I've been unable to concentrate on anything for any length of time while, at the same time, I've been trying to stay busy! We've just arrived in the Alps so there's a whole new set of things to do here.....
That must be really difficult - no doubt you'll sympathise with my own children, who live locally and expect their Sunday dinners ....until they search the internet to discover I'm overseas or 'tripping' somewhere.
We had a great time in the Maritime Alps recently - and a fun time in Tende - a lovely little town.
Well it's not as though we all lived locally but China does seem a long way! The boys both work abroad too. One in Canada and the other in Switzerland. I certainly brought them up to be bold and adventurous......
