Solving the mystery..............

For the past couple of weeks, every time I opened the patio umbrella there fell to the table along with the odd wasp or evil looking red-eyed fly, some small black droppings. They looked a bit like a mouse had been up in the folds of material.

Yesterday lunch time the mystery was solved.......

I opened up the umbrella so we could sit outside to eat our lunch. Out flew a small creature and it landed in some foliage. At first I thought it was a bird but no......it was a tiny bat!

{Our mystery visitor - revealed!}

She (?) stayed there long enough for me to take several photos - and is even looking at me in the one above.

I wonder if she'll come back.

Ooo, what a treat! Bat might not think so though ;-)

Bat didn't seem too bothered although she wasn't there today - probably gone somewhere where she won't get her sleep disturbed.
The most amazing bit was when she looked right at me - gave me goose pimples!

Little bats are incredibly nice creatures. Big blood sucking jobs though... you only get them on the Alps...
