Homesick..................

Just found a new blog to follow (see my list on this page - 'love of scotland').

Looking at the photos there has made me feel a bit homesick for Scotland. Those of you that know me know that I was born in the South East of England (in suburbia) but I'm more than happy to be an adopted Scot.

I first visited Scotland (well Edinburgh) in the mid-1960's and fell in love with it. I was also in love with a Scot - who much later became my husband. (There's a long story there but I won't bore you with it.)

My best friend Avril and I hitchhiked around the UK - visiting Edinburgh and Cardiff and many other places. It was the summer holidays. We had quite a few adventures - some hilarious, others more scary!

Now that I've lived in Scotland for almost 40 years and explored quite a lot of it, I feel I belong.

Hi Laura
I too was born in the south of England, Devon to be precise, lived in Lincolnshire most of my life, but found myself married to a Scotsman and living in the north of Scotland some sixteen years ago. I cannot imagine living anywhere else and must admit I don't cross the border very often at all now. I think you have a wonderful lifestyle, split between here and France, two beautiful landscapes.

That is a cracking picture of Dubh Loch- it never looks like that when I go past as it's always my FWA from Stan & Bill's and its pouring with rain with a howling ail and a bad hangover...
